No. 4 Lancers dominate rival Mustangs

Box Score LONDON, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers men's basketball team ended January by tallying their eighth win of the month, defeating the rival Western Mustangs 89-61 on Wednesday night and extending their win streak to six games. 

Lien Phillip was dominant against the Mustangs, leading all players with 18 points and 14 rebounds for his 12th double-double of the season.  Ryan Christie added 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting while Michael Petrella and Ismar Seferagic picked up 10 points each in the victory. 

The Lancers shot 48.7% from the floor, compared to 37.3% from the Mustangs, and outrebounded their opponents 51-36.  Ryan Higgins tallied a team-high 15 points in a losing cause for Western, who drop to 2-14 in conference play. 

The OUA West divison-leading Lancers, currently ranked No. 4 in the CIS, will return to the St. Denis Centre this Saturday to host the fourth-place Brock Badgers.  Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m., and the game will be available live online at USTREAM's Lancers TV.
