The Lancer track & field team claimed four medals at the U SPORTS track & field championships this weekend at the University of Saskatchewan.

Overall, the Lancer men finished in 6th place, tied with Regina, with 34 points, and the Lancer women placed tenth overall with 21 points.

Heading into the event ranked as the top seed,
Mandy Brunet continued her reign in the women's triple jump, claiming the Lancers lone gold medal of the meet. Brunet jumped 12.39m to finish first overall and earn the blue and gold ten points on the scoreboard.

Brunet also placed 7th overall in the women's long jump at 5.67m.

On the men's side, the Lancers captured a gold and two bronze medals.Â
Nicholas Neri ran a first place time of 3:05.77 in the men's 1000m para event, while
Anthony Atkinson broke his own Lancer school record yet again this year, with a throw of 18.49m to place third.
Caleb Keeling also placed third in the men's high jump with a height of 2.08m.
The U SPORTS championships wrapped up the Lancers 2022-23 season and the blue and gold would like to thank their family and friends for their support and dedication throughout the year. Â
