Overall, the Lancers claimed two medals after day one of competition with the Lancer women sitting in third place in the team standings with 17 points, while the men begin scoring tomorrow.

Senior
Jordana Badley-Castello captured gold in the very first event of the championship in the women's weight throw. Badley-Castello threw 19.45m to set a new Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse record.

The Lancers also claimed a bronze medal in the women's pole vault as second year nursing student
Grace Elford cleared a personal best height of 4.15m to earn a spot on the podium.

On the men's side, the 4x200m relay team of
Ben Tilson,
Ryan Holly,
Weagbe Mombo, and
Cameron John-Dunslow qualified for the event final taking place on Saturday with a time of 1:30.11.

Heptathlete
Tristen Miscia sits in second place after four events with 2985 points. Miscia placed first in the long jump with a jump of 7.08m, second in the 60m at 7.04 seconds, and fourth in the shot put at 12.68m, while clearing a height of 1.81m in the high jump. The competition continues tomorrow afternoon, starting with the 60m hurdles. Â

UP NEXT
Day two of the championships continues Friday with the men's weight throw at 2:30pm. Events on the track begin at 4:15pm while other field events kick off at 4:25pm with the women's long jump. Â
