Lancers claim five medals on final day of nationals

The nationally ranked Lancer track & field team closed out the final day of the 2025 BioSteel U SPORTS Championships on Saturday at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse.
 
The blue and gold captured five medals on the final day of competition and finished the championship in fourth place overall in the team standings on both sides of the competition.
 
The Western Mustangs claimed both the men's and women's overall title.  
 
FULL RESULTS
 
The Lancer took the top two spots in the women's triple jump with senior Mandy Brunet placing first overall in her final competition with the blue and gold. Brunet jumped 12.46m to place first, while Mikayla May secured the second spot with a jump of 12.29m.
 
Madelyn Eybergen claimed her second medal of the championship with a bronze medal finish in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:24.54.
 
On the men's side of the competition, thrower A.J. Stanat secured first place in the men's shot put with a throw of 17.70m, while Ben Tilson placed second overall in the men's 600m with a time of 1:17.63.
