Running in her first cross country race since the ninth grade, second year Lancer
Madelyn Eybergen had an outstanding run and captured the women's individual gold medal at the Vigars & Salter Western Invitational this past Saturday in London, ON.

Eybergen finished the race with a time of 29:51, crossing the finish line a full 10 seconds ahead of the silver medalist.
Â
Overall, the Lancer women placed seventh overall in the team standings.
Joelle Olla was the second Lancer across the finish line in a time of 32:16,
Natalie Fortier was next in 32:54, followed by rookie
Natalie Adam in 33:47, and
Karen Castillo at 34:03.

On the men's side,
Jacob Fitzpatrick led the blue and gold to an overall fifth place team finish. The senior runner finished eighth overall in a time of 25:58.

Noah Costa was the next scorer to cross the finish line, completing the 8km race in 26:14. Luke Mahwhinney finished in a time of 26:19, while rookie
Andreas Pardalis completed the race in a time of 26:48, and
Brayden DeGrace in 27:31.
